Work work work

So I've been dying to do some painting just for myself. You artists remember what that is? To just paint whatever you want however you want on whatever you want, and how stress relieving it can be? If you're a graphic designer or illustrator, chances are you probably forgot what that feels like, haha.
Anyway I started doing something just for me, (which I'll post pics of later when I get back to it), but then reality tugged and reminded me that I still have a lot to get done for other people.
So I'm reworking some designs for G5, sketching out my composition for The Flying Mudbrothers in preparation for that painting, I'm making a custom action figure as a gift for a friend, kicking out a bunch of art for Pelle Pelle, then it's back to the drawing board for some band t-shirt concepts. It seems like even the things you love the most cause you stress when doing it is your job.
Anyway, when that's all done I have about a dozen people patiently waiting on me for tattoo designs.
When that's done, I'd like to start practicing with my own tattoo equipment so I can start inking up some skin.
Blah blah blah, I'm not really going anywhere, just... you know... blogging.
I'll be posting some pics of some of this stuff soon.

GG T-shirts

So I discovered a new screenprinting place based out of Howell, MI called GG T-shirts. They printed the Against the Grain car shirt you might've seen in this blog, and did a great job with it.

If anyone's looking for band shirts, check them out, you can get more info on them below:
ggscreenprinting@gmail.com
http://www.facebook.com/pages/GG-T-shirts/150525394996423

They're currently holding a design contest on their facebook page. The design that gets the most "Likes" (votes) wins 25 shirts. I submitted two designs for their contest, the first being a simplified version of the As Fall Leaves "Release the Dogs" shirt and the second being the "Dead and Famous: Elvis" shirt.
You'll also see that Dick Hickey submitted one of the designs I did for their band as well.
Everyone check out GG T-shirts, "Like" their page, and then get voting!

Thanks!

Dead and Famous: Elvis

So I thought it would be fun to take some old movie/music stars and zombify them. So I'm going to start a small t-shirt line called Dead and Famous with zombie versions of these old stars, my first shirt being of Elvis.
Some ideas for future shirts: Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, maybe Jim Morrison. Any other ideas on people I should do?

Godzilla Guitar -- Finished!

Well, I think I'm done with it. Now I'm going to add a varnish to give it some protection as well as that guitar shine. Figured I'd take a picture of it now so you can see the art without the shine getting in the way. Had a lot of fun doing it!

Rockzilla continued

Laying some paint down to start defining some depth and establishing placement.

This is where the magic happens...

In case any of you have ever wondered, this is my workspace. I spend my 8-5 5 days a week sitting in this big mess. Here is where I draw, create clothing cads, pick through fabric swatches, select pantone numbers, etc.

Rockzilla - The beginning

The guitar is taped off, a think layer of gesso applied and the sketch is being laid in.
Time for paint!

SNAFU is back!

SNAFU has gotten back together, so it's time to start drawing! Hopefully I'll get to kick out some more fun band stuff for them soon.
